Overview of the Function
This role sits within the US Marketing and Business Development (MBD) team and supports strategic initiatives aimed at driving the smooth onboarding and integration of lateral partners, while also contributing to firmwide efforts related to business development, branding, and cross-functional collaboration.
We are seeking a motivated, proactive, and energetic professional to support US lateral partner onboarding and strategic global MBD projects. The position offers growth and learning opportunities, along with the chance to work closely with international offices.
Role summary/purpose of job
This role will provide critical administrative and project support to ensure the successful onboarding, integration, and strategic engagement of lateral partners across the US offices. Reporting directly to a senior MBD team member, this role will assist in executing high-visibility projects, maintaining project plans and timelines, and coordinating with various departments and global teams. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in legal marketing, operations, or professional services, with exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic initiatives at a global law firm.
Key responsibilities and deliverables
- Support the execution of the firm’s US lateral partner onboarding and integration program by coordinating logistics, preparing onboarding materials, and managing calendars, timelines, and follow-up.
- Assist with the development and tracking of integration plans (e.g., 100-Day Priority Plans) and help ensure timely progress updates.
- Coordinate across MBD, IT, HR, CRM, and administrative teams to streamline onboarding workflows and maintain consistency across offices.
- Help prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for internal stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Maintain and update internal tracking tools and documents related to lateral integration, firm initiatives, and partner engagement.
- Support cross-functional initiatives by conducting background research, coordinating meeting logistics, and preparing meeting summaries and action items.
- Monitor and follow up on project timelines to ensure key deliverables are met and communicate status updates to project leads.
- Collaborate with colleagues across functions and offices to build strong relationships and promote knowledge sharing.
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Two to four years of marketing or related experience in a professional environment desired.
- Candidate must have:

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York and California or reporting to someone in those states, Freshfields is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the States of New York and California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000 to $90,000.
