The Role
About This Role

Strava is the app for active people. With over 150 million athletes in more than 185 countries, it’s more than tracking workouts—it’s where connection, motivation, and personal bests thrive. No matter your activity, gear, or goals, Strava’s got you covered. Find your crew, crush your milestones, and keep moving forward. Start your journey with Strava today.

Our mission is simple: to motivate people to live their best active lives. We believe in the power of movement to connect and drive people forward.

You are a savvy, grassroots marketer who is passionate about community building and engagement. You are passionate about sport, you have existing strong relationships within the running or cycling communities across Germany and have a reputation as a social connector. You are a self-starter and have the ability to drive projects independently while working closely with the UK & DE Partner Lead. You are excited to step into this new role, leading the way of growing Strava across Germany.
We follow a flexible hybrid model that generally translates to around half your time on-site in our Berlin office & community —roughly three days per week.

What You’ll Do:
  • Acquire and retain partners (world class creators, community clubs & event organizers), both digitally & IRL, across the DACH region.
  • Collaborate with key athletes, creators, community clubs & event organizers to help them get the most out of Strava’s products, to drive Community Partnerships OKRs (AKA get them on Strava)!
  • Create, innovate and execute initiatives with creators, community clubs, and event organizers to deepen their product adoption and platform affiliation.
  • Scale, measure and report on the impact of these partnerships; communicate these metrics and connect them to broader business trends and larger company initiatives. Use data to measure results and feedback to make constant improvements.
  • Contribute to local DACH insights for the Global Team. Lead on monthly reports on trends, events, key clubs and influencers, and opportunities and recommendations.
  • Champion inclusive practices that support a broader range of creators and communities on Strava and across the industry. Engage in ongoing learning and apply these insights to build a more welcoming and equitable platform for all.
  • Support on the build of Strava’s B2B Content Platform - from German localisation, to conception, execution to maintenance.
  • From strategy to execution, lead on producing engaging content for Germany Strava Club and Germany Newsletter, that focuses on retaining Community Partners
  • Support and collaborate on ad-hoc Global Projects. Build connections internally, enrolling & collaborating with teams across Strava.
  • Travel and attend events throughout the region.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
  • +5 years of experience in Sport’s marketing, PR or sales
  • Proficient in German and English (spoken, written, and read) and a deep understanding of German cultural nuance
  • Bring an extensive list of Creator, Club or Event relationships in running or cycling across Germany
  • Recognizing & connecting with the next big creators, community clubs & event organizers, staying ahead of industry trends
  • Build relationships through regularly attend local community run or ride events
  • You are proficient working with community monitoring software (Social Listening tools, Influencer Measurement tools) and community platforms (Eventbrite, Slack, Discord, Telegram)
  • Articulating Community Partner feedback to internal stakeholders.
  • Experience using data and analytics in the service of larger initiatives — ability to track, analyze and communicate key metrics and business trends.
  • Knowledge of known & emerging social media platforms and how partners create content
  • Deep passion for Strava and the health and wellness of the world’s athletes; you may not be a creator, but you understand the landscape and believe that high quality and inspiring content is important
  • Project management experience, with experience leading and handling multiple time-sensitive, cross-functional projects on deadline
  • Flexibility to regularly travel to key cities, community hubs and events across Germany & wider DACH region
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop creative partner activations and community marketing campaigns
  • Demonstrated experience thinking strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans
