A Customer Support Engineer, Voice AI (Auto) is a skilled software developer who teams up with our automotive customers and external partners to ensure the smooth integration of voice AI into their products. Additionally, they have a keen understanding of partner requirements and are adept at identifying risks, pain/friction points, and improving various aspects of the platform. This role demands a diverse spectrum of software engineering skills, encompassing various programming languages and software design methodologies due to the range of customer preferences. Effective communication abilities are equally essential, given the direct engagement with external customers integral to the job. A Customer Support Engineer typically works on multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating adeptness in time management and skillful prioritization.

This position may require up to 15% travel to meet the needs of our business, and can be worked remotely throughout the greater Seoul, Seongnam City area in South Korea.

In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with top automotive companies, helping them integrate SoundHound’s voice AI solutions into their vehicles
  • Be the go-to expert on SoundHound AI’s SDK and Voice AI solutions, and your deep understanding of our technology will enable you to guide our partners
  • When challenges arise, gather accurate information, replicate issues, fix issues or report issues to the engineering team, and test solutions. Your ability to troubleshoot effectively will be the key to delivering success
  • File detailed tickets and escalate issues to our engineering team, and you will play a crucial role in refining our products
  • Own and maintain the technical aspects of our partner projects, from translating business requirements into technical requirements by diving deeply into our AI system
  • Adapt and grow our partnerships through constant iteration, adding value to our partners while discussing solutions with our internal engineering teams to improve our internal platform
  • Design and implement long-term solutions or short-term workarounds as appropriate to achieve business objectives
  • Work cross-functionally with program management, product management, business development, internal engineering, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time

We would love to hear from you if:

  • You have 2+ years of experience in software engineering, with proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or Python
  • You are familiar using embedded SDKs or cloud APIs, integrating these solutions
  • You’re committed to understanding customer’s needs and enjoy solving technical challenges, identifying root causes, and finding effective solutions

We’d be especially excited if you have experience in the automotive industry, especially in roles focused on product integration and providing technical support. Experience in AI, machine learning, or voice AI would be a valuable bonus.
