Job DescriptionAECOM Advisory is our new management consulting Global Business Line that aims to be a trusted adviser to senior level clients and executive teams on their most pressing enterprise and strategic needs.
We serve the full value chain of clients active in infrastructure, and the built environment, including national governments, regulatory entities, city agencies, utilities, transit agencies, infrastructure operators and investors. Our global team of 400 staff comprises business consultants, economists, commercial strategists, technology architects, human capital and change management practitioners. We help our clients develop their strategy, improve their operational performance, and integrate digital systems to generate value for their stakeholders and impact for their communities.

AECOM Advisory is seeking an experienced consulting leader to support the growth of its
Energy Advisory practice in India. This role focuses on strategic advisory, business
development, client relationship management, and delivery of complex consulting
engagements across the energy and utilities sectors. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in expanding AECOM Advisory’s market presence while advising clients on energy transition, renewable energy, power sector transformation, Infrastructure investment, sustainability, and operational performance
improvement initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to work within a fast-paced and collaborative consulting environment alongside multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Outreach
• Lead business development initiatives and originate strategic consulting opportunities within the energy and adjacent sectors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, utilities,
developers, investors, and institutional stakeholders.
• Identify emerging market trends, client priorities, and growth opportunities across
power, renewable energy, utilities, and energy transition.
• Develop and execute market engagement and client growth strategies.
• Represent AECOM Advisory in industry forums, professional networks, and client
discussions.
Client Advisory & Engagement Delivery
• Lead and oversee advisory engagements across:
o Power and utilities
o Renewable energy and energy transition
o Energy market analysis and sector reform
o PPP, Transaction Advisory and investment in Power and utilities
o Sustainability and ESG strategy
o Corporate fi nance, Valuations, M&A, Privatization, and Infrastructure
funding in Energy sector
• Serve as a trusted adviser to senior client stakeholders, including C-suite
executives and government leadership.
• Lead multidisciplinary consulting teams across multiple workstreams and
geographies.
• Drive narrative development and production of high-quality presentations,
reports, and executive-level insights.
• Provide quality assurance over analytical outputs, strategic recommendations,
and client deliverables.
Proposal & Process Management
• Lead thought leadership, market positioning, and intellectual property
development for the Energy Advisory practice.
• Lead proposal development activities for strategic pursuits.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to develop technical and commercial
solutions.
• Manage pricing, subcontractor coordination, risk reviews, compliance
processes, and proposal submissions.
Practice & Team Leadership
• Mentor and coach project teams and consultants.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance, and client-focused team culture.
• Contribute to practice development initiatives including operational improvement, resource planning, performance management, and capability building.
• MBA from a top-tier institute or leading global business school.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in management consulting in energy, utilities, and
related advisory sectors.
• Proven experience leading consulting engagements and business development
initiatives. Demonstrated expertise in client relationship management and strategic
advisory delivery.
• Experience working on renewable energy, power sector reform, sustainability, or
energy transition projects.
• Exposure to government, PPP, or multilateral-funded infrastructure programs
preferred.
• Strong understanding of energy markets, infrastructure policy, sustainability trends,
and the evolving energy transition landscape.
• Excellent business development and client relationship management capabilities.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to shape and position consulting
opportunities.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder engagement
skills.
• Ability to operate eHectively within a highly matrixed and multidisciplinary consulting
organization.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage complex client engagements
under tight timelines.
