The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your Responsibilities
As a Quality Engineering Student for John Deere Seeding Group located in Moline, IL, you will:
- Provide support to the Quality Engineering team at John Deere Moline Seeding, learning what it takes to be a Quality Engineer at John Deere.
- Support quality planning, quality control, quality containment, or quality improvement activities.
- Primary support will be in our Paint and supplier non-conforming departments, but activities could take you into any corner of the factory.
- Assist team with designing or implementing new technology and applications.
- Working with operators and engineers to identify and solve quality issues.
This position is not available to students on immigration visas
What Skills You Need
- Pursing a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar discipline
- Ability to work 16-20 hours weekly during the academic year
- Ability to work 30-40 hours during the summer semester
- Strong communication skills
- Well organized with effective time management skills
- Graduation date Spring of 2026 or later
What Makes You Standout
- Statistical analysis classes or courses
- Experience working in a team and influencing without authority
- Problem solving skills or training (such as Six Sigma training)
- Experience farming or using Agricultural products, especially for planting
