Parenting Education Facilitator (Part-Time)
Location: Hybrid (Virtual and In-Person)

Bethanna is seeking a compassionate, engaging, and experienced Parenting Education Facilitator to lead evidence-based parenting education groups using the Nurturing Parenting Curriculum. The Parenting Education Facilitator provides structured parenting education, facilitates parent-child interaction activities, and creates a supportive, strengths-based learning environment for parents navigating a variety of life challenges.
Job Qualifications
About the Program
Our Parenting Education Program serves parents who are:
- Court-mandated to complete parenting education
- Seeking personal growth and improved parenting skills
- Receiving services through substance use treatment programs
- Participating in mental health services
- Involved with child welfare agencies
The program supports parents of children from infancy through adolescence.
Each course consists of:
- 12 classes over 6 weeks
- Two classes per week
- Classes lasting approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes
- Currently offered virtually, with plans to transition to a hybrid model of virtual and in-person instruction
Position Responsibilities
As a Parenting Education Facilitator, you will:
- Facilitate parenting education classes using the Nurturing Parenting Curriculum.
- Lead parent-child interaction groups and family socialization activities.
- Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Foster a welcoming, respectful, and strengths-based learning environment.
- Recruit participants and support consistent attendance through reminders, encouragement, and assistance with barriers to participation.
- Maintain participant engagement throughout the course.
- Identify participant needs and communicate case management concerns to the PECE Program Coordinator.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain certification in the Nurturing Parenting Curriculum and any required funder competencies.
- Maintain competency in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Verbal De-Escalation techniques.
- Participate in program meetings and maintain regular communication with the PECE Program Coordinator.
Qualifications
Preferred Education
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Education, or a related field.
Preferred Experience
- Experience facilitating parent education or psychoeducational groups.
- Experience working with families who have experienced trauma, substance use, child welfare involvement, or other challenging life circumstances.
- Experience using the Nurturing Parenting Curriculum is strongly preferred.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to agency policies.
- Commitment to Bethanna's mission of strengthening children and families.
