The Role

Role Location: First 6 months in the Wakefield, MA office. Then the role will transition to hybrid. 

The Purpose of Your Role:

The Paraplanner will play a crucial role in the financial planning process by providing comprehensive support to our financial advisors and planners. They will assist in the creation of financial plans and recommendations tailored to meet clients' unique needs and goals.

Their responsibilities will revolve around researching financial products, analyzing data, and preparing detailed reports. Their expertise will help ensure that Sentinel’s clients receive well-informed advice and appropriate financial solutions.

The Paraplanner is integral to the success of Sentinel’s financial planning practice, as their expertise will allow our financial advisors to provide clients with well-informed and personalized recommendations.

What you'll bring to Sentinel:

  • Licensed Series 65
  • Knowledge of financial planning principles, investment strategies, and risk management
  • Experience working with individual clients or admin in Wealth Management
  • Proficiency in using financial planning software and tools

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Analyze: Analyze investment and insurance products to identify suitable options for clients based on their risk tolerance, financial objectives, and constraints.
  • Financial Modeling: Utilize financial planning software to create accurate and detailed financial models. These models incorporate various factors such as income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and retirement projections to develop comprehensive financial plans.
  • Plan Preparation: Collaborate with financial advisors to develop personalized financial plans for clients. Ensure the plans align with clients' long-term goals, risk profiles, and financial situations.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the financial industry. Prepare necessary documentation and reports to comply with regulatory guidelines.
  • Client Communication: Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing their queries, clarifying financial recommendations, and updating them on the progress of their financial plans.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with financial advisors, administrators, and other professionals within the organization to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

About you: 

The financial planning industry is ever evolving. We are looking for a Paraplanner who is able to continually adapt their skills and knowledge to best serve the needs of our clients and support the attainment of their financial objectives.

What you need to have:

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient and comfortable speaking and presenting in-front of a group
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of professionalism and ethical conduct in handling sensitive financial information

Nice to haves:

  • CFP or in pursuit of CFP
  • Proven experience in financial planning, wealth management, or a related role is an advantage
