onsemi is seeking a skilled Parametric Engineer in our Gresham, OR, site with strong expertise in Agilent (Keysight) parametric test platforms with a solid foundation in semiconductor device physics and a strong software programming background. The ideal candidate will develop, optimize, and sustain electrical parametric test methodologies that support fab process monitoring, device reliability, and yield improvement for high‑volume semiconductor manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize parametric test programs on Agilent/Keysight test systems (e.g., 4070 series or similar).
  • Maintain the framework responsible for driving the entire Agilent/Keysight testing cell.
  • Characterize device electrical parameters, including threshold voltage, leakage, drive currents, resistance, capacitance, breakdown characteristics, etc.
  • Collaborate with Device Engineering, Technology Development, and New Product Introduction (NPI) engineering teams to diagnose electrical issues and propose corrective actions.
  • Perform data analysis on large parametric data sets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process and test improvements.
  • Drive improvements in test throughput, measurement accuracy, and data quality.
  • Document test procedures, specifications, and engineering change notices.
  • Train technicians and engineers in parametric test usage and best practices.
  • Own parametric test Cpk trends and summaries across multiple technologies.

Agilent / Keysight Framework Responsibilities

  • Develop, debug, and optimize test programs using the Agilent Parametric Measurement Framework (PMF), including:
    • Test Definition Environment (TDE) for device-level test setup and structure creation.
    • Test Plan Manager (TPM) for building reusable test plan libraries.
    • Measurement Modules (MM) configuration: SMUs, VMUs, HRSMUs, CV modules, pulse measurement modules, and switch matrix routing.
  • Configure and maintain the Agilent 4070 series or equivalent parametric testers, including diagnostic routines and system-level performance verification.
  • Build and maintain test templates, framework libraries, and device-specific measurement blocks to standardize parametric testing across products.
  • Develop automated guard-banding, compliance, auto-ranging, and settling routines aligned with device physics principles to ensure measurement accuracy, repeatability, and optimal test times.
  • Oversee probe-card DIB (Device Interface Board) definitions, pin maps, and switch matrix routes within the Agilent framework.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent technical degree; MSEE a plus.
  • Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics, including MOSFET, BJT, resistor, capacitor, and diode operation.
  • Experience analyzing parametric data with statistical tools (e.g., JMP, Python, or similar).
  • Programming experience in C/C++, Python, or tester‑specific scripting languages.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agilent/Keysight parametric testers, test methodologies, and associated probe systems.
  • High degree of programming skills across multiple languages.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing flows and inline parametric test strategies.
  • Understanding of reliability test methodologies (e.g., BTI, HCI, TDDB).
