Litigation Paralegals work closely with senior-level attorneys and team members in managing complex litigation cases. This team player has a friendly, positive attitude and a high level of professionalism who will play a key supporting role to ensure our clients are well served.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Managing, organizing and facilitating complex litigation cases involving multiple parties and counsel
- Collecting, managing, organizing, and reviewing large volumes of discovery documents electronically
- Well-developed writing and research skills
- Drafting pleadings, discovery, and routine correspondence
- Applying both state and federal court rules of civil procedure
- Calculating, calendaring and tracking court deadlines, and coordinating the scheduling of depositions, mediations, hearings and trials
- 5+ years of progressive complex civil litigation paralegal experience
- The ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people
- The ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships
- The ability to work with limited supervision
- The ability to effectively instruct and direct administrative staff
- The ability to anticipate attorney needs, identifying problems and finding solutions
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize a high volume of workload
- Experience in managing electronic and paper filing systems
- Experience preparing for and attending arbitration, mediation, and trial
