Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., a multi-office national law firm, has an immediate opening for a Paralegal in our Lexington, Kentucky office. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
Job SummaryThe Paralegal in this role will support attorneys handling civil defense litigation matters. This is a hands-on position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while working collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and staff in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesDraft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, discovery responses, motions, subpoenas, correspondence, and reports under attorney direction
Prepare and track subpoenas and other requests for information
Organize, maintain, and manage case files (physical and electronic)
Monitor case progress and escalate issues requiring attorney involvement
Maintain and manage attorney calendars, including trial dates and discovery deadlines
Assist with trial preparation, including compiling exhibits, coordinating materials, and organizing case files
Conduct legal research and assist with case development as needed
Review, organize, and summarize case-related documents and records
Assist with bankruptcy-related matters and federal court removals, as applicable
Coordinate with clients, experts, and court personnel
Perform additional duties as assigned
3+ years of paralegal experience supporting attorneys in civil litigation, preferably in a high-volume law firm environment
Experience with state and federal court filing, including e-filing systems
Familiarity with bankruptcy and federal court removals preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Paralegal certificate a plus
This position is primarily sedentary and requires extended periods of sitting and use of office equipment. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 20 pounds) may be required.
Working ConditionsThis role is based in a professional office environment with varying noise levels and occasional interruptions throughout the workday.
