This employee is responsible for performing a variety of support duties for in-house attorneys, including legal matters and contract review management, IP portfolio management, researching law, investigating facts, preparing/gathering documents/files, and other duties as assigned.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes
- Reviews and supports attorneys in managing litigation and corporate documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, articles of incorporation, corporate documents, interrogatories and responses to
- performs initial form review and manages review process for agreements with partnerships, payers, vendors, and other third parties review, approval, and use by counsel and general counsel
- Assists attorneys in managing and processing contracts, including initial drafting, reviewing and negotiating of contracts, maintaining contract repositories, and ensuring contracts adhere to Lincare's standards
- Drafts termination and default letters
- Investigates facts and law of cases to assist with reviewing causes of action and to preparation of cases accordingly
- Gathers documents, files, and other information needed for active litigation cases
- Assist reviewing attorney by producing accurate, timely initial redlines and clerical edits on corporate contracts to support the attorney
- Manage administrative tasks related to IP portfolio maintence
- Manages intellectual property files in coordination with IP counsel
- Performs other clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, composing/typing routine correspondence, and reading/routing incoming legal requests
- Prepares legal documents and maintains files
Education
- Bachelor's Degree, Required
Work Experience
- Five years or more of related background and/or training in litigation and contract management
- Two years or more of related experience and/or training, Required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
