About this role:
The Wells Fargo Legal Services has an opening for a Paralegal within its Elder and Vulnerable Adult Financial Exploitation Reporting Team. For additional information on this line of business, refer to the external Careers Site at Wellsfargo.com/career
In this role, you will:
- Provide support to a specialized area within the Legal Department using a high degree of analytical, communication and organizational skills
- Research and resolve issues and matters which may involve substantial legal or factual complexity, through detailed research and examination of documentation and factual investigation
- Provide substantiation and background for specific client inquiries, claims, disputes, cases and proceedings under the direction of an attorney
- Present recommendations and exercise some independent judgement while developing specialty expertise
- Identify issues in area of expertise and work independently on complex assignments without direct supervision
- Prepare agreements, documents and pleadings, and provide research and background information under the direction of an attorney
- Collaborate, consult, and provide information with Legal Department attorneys and staff, outside counsel and collaborate with line of business
- Communicate with government entities as needed
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Paralegal experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Elder and Vulnerable Adult Financial Exploitation regulatory reporting
- Experience working with in-house legal counsel
- Experience with EVAFE- Elderly and Vulnerable Adult Financial Exploitation Prevention Act
- Experience working with Litigation
- Experience facilitating communication with outside counsels
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with analyzing statutes, working with rules and procedures and handling filings within different jurisdictions
- Experience with reviewing and analyzing legal documents, utilizing templates and standard formats and general business writing
- Strong analytical, organizational and research skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet strict deadlines and take direction from more senior paralegals and attorneys
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
- Experience in handling business resolutions and Non-Disclosure Agreements
- Financial industry experience
