Key Responsibilities
- Contract Review & Drafting:
- Assist in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating customer and vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Prepare contract summaries, redlines, and revisions based on attorney guidance.
- Support the commercial legal team in standardizing templates and maintaining contract playbooks.
- Documentation & Records Management:
- Organize and manage legal documents, contracts, and correspondence within the contract lifecycle management (CLM) system.
- Ensure proper record-keeping, version control, and retrieval of legal documents.
- Legal Operations & Technology Management:
- Oversee CLM and DocuSign processes, ensuring smooth contract execution and tracking.
- Assist with legal technology implementations and optimizations (such as Salesforce and AI tools) to improve workflow efficiency.
- Support compliance efforts by tracking contractual obligations and renewal deadlines.
- General Legal Support:
- Conduct legal research and provide summaries on key contractual issues.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other materials for legal and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, sales, finance, and compliance, to address contract-related inquiries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification required.
- 3+ years of experience in a commercial legal or contract management role.
- A positive, customer-centric, can-do attitude with a commitment to excellence and a desire to support your team.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, contract review, and negotiation principles.
- Experience working with CLM platforms (e.g., Ironclad, Agiloft, or similar) and DocuSign.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with legal technology tools.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a corporate legal department or law firm supporting commercial transactions.
- Familiarity with data privacy, compliance, and regulatory requirements related to contracts.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
