  • Data Room Ownership: Build and maintain a centralized, clean contract, co sec and wider legal data room to ensure alignment across systems.

  • Budget & Invoice Management: Act as a trusted owner for external legal spend—reviewing law firm invoices against original quotes and tracking team budget adherence.

  • Process Optimization: Map out current legal workflows, identify gaps, and help optimize processes for the wider team.

  • 2. Regulatory, Horizon Scanning & Expansion Research
  • Horizon Scanning ("RegWatch"): Participate in monthly regulatory tracking; identify upcoming legislation across payments/e-money (AML/CTF, licensing, data protection, cybersecurity) and coordinate next steps with internal stakeholders (e.g., Infosec, Product).

  • Global Expansion Research: Conduct preliminary legal research on regulatory constraints, local requirements, and licensing parameters as PPRO expands into new markets.

  • Knowledge Repository: Maintain, audit, and update our repository of 60+ global legal opinions and market servicing trackers.

  • 3. Commercial, Product & Governance Support
  • Commercial Contracts: Perform low-level contract reviews and provide general commercial support.

  • Product & AI Review: Support legal reviews for new product features and AI tools as they are developed.

  • Corporate Secretarial (CoSec): Assist with basic corporate secretarial tasks, including document notarizations, filings, and governance admin.

  • Outside Counsel Coordination: Support matter management, research, and daily liaison with external legal partners.

What you'll need to bring:

  • Experience: Ideally 2–3 years of paralegal, legal assistant or other relevant experience (we are also open to high-drive candidates with 1+ years of experience who are ready to hit the ground running).

  • Industry Background: Experience in Fintech, Financial Services, Tech/SaaS, Banking, or fast-paced Tech Startups.

  • Mindset & Soft Skills:

  • Highly organized, resilient, and comfortable operating under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • A pragmatic, solution-oriented approach ("how do we make this work for the business?").

  • Tech-savvy - comfortable using AI and driving AI solutions, with strong numerical literacy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communicator with high integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial/budget data - adept at building relationships in person and remotely.

  • Nice-to-Haves:

  • Prior exposure to Corporate Secretarial (CoSec) tasks or legal tech tools (e.g., Ironclad).

  • Additional languages relevant to LatAm, APAC, or EMEA regions.

What we can offer:

  • Path to Qualification: We are happy to support the right ambitious candidates seeking to qualify (SQE / Solicitor qualification support is available via qualified solicitors on the team).

  • Direct Mentorship & Supervision: Work alongside and receive structured guidance from senior lawyers with premier law firm backgrounds.

  • Global Exposure: Gain hands-on exposure to cross-border legal topics across EMEA, LatAm, and APAC without regional silos.

  • Collaborative Culture: Join an inclusive, ego-free team structured around small cross-functional working groups.

  • Clear Career progression: Clear grading frameworks (L-level system) with transparent criteria for career growth and promotion.

  • Working Arrangements: Hybrid working model (3 days a week in our London office, with flexibility on the remaining days).

What We Do

PPRO is a fintech company that provides digital payments infrastructure to businesses and banks so that they can scale their checkout, acquiring, and risk services through one connection. Payment platforms, acquirers, and merchants that plug into PPRO’s infrastructure are able to access payment methods, fraud screening tools, and other essential products from multiple providers. Every product can be deployed and controlled with clicks, not code. And with the company's orchestration layer directing process flows and data like clockwork, PPRO’s partners can rest easy knowing they’re delivering seamless end-to-end services to their customers. Citi, PayPal, and Stripe are just some of the names that depend on PPRO to accelerate their roadmaps, boost their conversions, and eliminate the complexities of digital payments.
