Stark & Stark is actively hiring a Paralegal for our Workers Compensation practice in our Marlton, NJ office. In this full-time, on-site role, you’ll work closely with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to deliver excellent results on behalf of the people we represent. Responsibilities:

  • Perform the legal support duties of client intake and obtain, organize, and review medical records, employment records, wage, insurance, and other claim-related records.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, settlement documents, and other case materials for attorney review.
  • Manage discovery activities, including document collection and production, medical record requests, and witness coordination.
  • Maintain organized case files; track court, agency, discovery, and internal deadlines; and prepare documents for electronic filing in New Jersey Workers’ Compensation courts.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, medical providers, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel regarding case status, scheduling, and document requests.
  • Prepare settlement statements, disbursement reports, lien-related materials, and case-expense documentation, and perform other paralegal support duties as assigned.  
Qualifications
  • The right candidate will have three to five years of experience in Workers’ Compensation matters.
  • An understanding of legal terminology, pleadings, discovery, and court procedures is preferred.
  • Proficiency with the COURTS on-line Filing System.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must.
  • Experience with legal case management software, preferably FileVine.
  • Prior experience working with accounts receivable is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will be self-directed, and detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of discretion, judgment, confidentiality, professional and ethical standards in communications with both external and internal parties.
  • Well organized and able to see an assignment through to successful conclusion.
  • Self-directed; able to think analytically and solve problems with little direction.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to emerging technologies in the legal field, including AI.

Skills Required

  • Three to five years of experience in Workers' Compensation matters
