Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and organised Paralegal to join our Hong Kong Public Companies Practice. The successful candidate will provide essential support to our legal team, assisting with a variety of tasks related to public companies in Hong Kong. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic legal environment.

  • Assist lawyers in preparing, proofreading, amending, and reviewing legal documents, including prospectuses, annual reports, and regulatory filings.
  • Conduct legal research and compile data on relevant laws and regulations.
  • Support the preparation and execution of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and other corporate finance activities.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in due diligence and verification exercises, and assist in the preparation of due diligence reports.
  • Assist with legal review exercises, including the distribution of documents for review, reviewing documents, and preparing legal review reports.
  • Maintain and organise case files, documents, and records.
  • Provide administrative support to the legal team as needed.
  • Assist with the signing and completion process of transactions.
  • Conduct general legal and commercial research and prepare reports/analysis using various sources.
  • Liaise with internal and external clients.
  • Assist with other ad-hoc legal and non-legal tasks as requested by fee-earners in the Group, including the production of transaction bibles in both hard copy and CDs, distribution of transaction documents, and collating know-how information.
  • Organise and prepare legal files.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field. A paralegal certification is an advantage.
  • Prior experience as a paralegal, preferably in corporate and securities law.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
