Scope of Responsibilities:

Provide assistance to paralegals and attorneys in investigating facts, preparing final documents and servicing clients. 

Essential Job Functions:

The Paralegal Assistant will provide assistance to paralegals and attorneys in investigating facts, preparing final documents and servicing clients. Essential job functions related to this specific position includes:


  • Assist in draft due diligence checklists.
  • Assist in managing checklists, due diligence with third parties, and closing calls.
  • Assist in managing virtual data rooms.
  • Assist with review and comment on title and survey and coordinate with title companies and surveyors.
  • Assist in drafting purchase and sale agreements and leases.
  • Assist in drafting loan agreements, promissory notes, security agreements, mortgages/deeds of trusts, and other ancillary loan documents.
  • Assist in drafting and/or reviewing organizational documents, such as articles of organization, operating agreements, and qualification documents.
  • Assist in drafting and/or reviewing shareholder and board consents.
  • Assist in drafting and/or reviewing officer’s certificates.
  • Assist in conducting and reviewing UCC judgment and lien searches at federal, state, and county levels.
  • Assist in coordinating due diligence, closing and funding between parties.
  • Assist in managing and overseeing the preparation and distribution of closing binders and other post-closing deliverables.
  • Assist attorneys and paralegals with other various tasks and assignments.
  • Correspond with clients via email and telephone in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Independently organize and manage files.
  • Attend and participate in in-house CLEs.
  • Meet billable hour requirement of 1000 hours per year.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1 - 2 years related legal experience in Real Estate preferred.
  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from ABA approved program preferred.
  • Significant, substantive legal, title or real estate development experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task efficiently and be an independent thinker.
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize workflow and manage projects; excellent time management skills
  • Ability to perform effectively and take direction from timekeepers.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Proven success working in a fast-paced, continually changing environment.

Compensation Information:

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

Austin, TX: $49,000 - $71,900
Dallas, TX: $48,500 - $71,300
Houston, TX: $47,600 - $70,000

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
