This position is based in our Nashville office.

General Description

We are seeking a junior paralegal to join a legal team handling sophisticated real estate finance transactions throughout the United States. The person will work directly with the lead closing coordinator, but will interact directly with attorneys, clients, borrowers, and other third parties.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Gather, organize, summarize, and index documents from multiple sources.
  • Attend meetings and closings.
  • Prepare documents and correspondence.
  • Monitor email traffic.
  • Review due diligence materials.
  • Format signature pages and create signature packets.
  • Run electronic document comparisons.
  • Compile electronic closing books.
  • Print and mail loan documents.
  • Communicate with clients and third parties via email and phone.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Special projects and duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Organizational skills to work independently and meet deadlines in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions.
  • Organizational skills to maintain daily accounting of time records and input timesheets into the system directly.
  • Communication skills to interact with all levels of internal staff, attorneys, management, and external clients of the firm.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills sufficient to make decisions regarding daily work.
  • Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.

Required Qualifications & Education:

  • 1 – 4 years of experience in a related area
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications & Education:

  • Paralegal certification a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.
