Position Overview
You will support StepStone’s Legal & Compliance Department in a variety of operational processes and projects, primarily focusing on the processing of amendment/legal action reviews proposed by StepStone client private markets fund managers. Technical and operational tools necessary to fulfill responsibilities will be supported by StepStone’s Portfolio Analytics & Reporting department.
Essential Job Functions
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze proposed amendments to private markets fund agreements (across asset classes)
- Analyze proposed advisory board actions for private markets funds (across asset classes)
- Coordinate communications with internal teams (Reporting, Research, Legal, Tax and Accounting)
- Draft client recommendation memos
- Review and negotiate Confidentiality / Non-Disclosure Agreements
- Assist the Legal team with completing and executing most favored nation (MFN) elections, right of first refusal (ROFR) elections, follow-on elections and other fund liquidity elections
- Participate in the formulation and implementation of process improvements and technology solutions to optimize efficiency, with an emphasis on Legal & Compliance operations functions

Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Four-year college degree
- One year of paralegal or legal administrative experience
- Experience in financial services (preferably private markets) and/or operational due diligence is a plus
Salary: $82,000.00 - $90,000.00
The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience. The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
