Senior People Systems Analyst ensures effective delivery of best-in-class employee experience platforms, including Workday HCM. This position will participate in the strategic execution of human resources (HR), Safety, and Employee Support Services people-focused technology roadmap. This role provides technical business support and expertise for leveraging Workday and other technologies to enable HR processes and automation.
What you will do
- Engages in supporting the technology roadmap for HR, Safety, and Employee Support Services, including the administration of existing systems and the analysis of integrating new solutions.
- Manages assigned Workday modules, such as Core HCM, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Absence, Time Tracking, Payroll, and Talent, as well as other people-focused systems in fulfillment of organizational goals.
- Collaborates with process owners to ensure effective use of the system capabilities, coordination of upgrades, and identification of new features that should be evaluated for implementation.
- Creates and maintains documentation for end-to-end processes.
- Collaborates with functional owners on development of end-user training materials and participates in delivery of technology training on new functionalities.
- Partners with the other team members, information technology (IT), business partners, vendors, and business leaders to effectively meet the employee experience technology needs of the organization.
- Supports employees, managers, and HR, Safety, and Employee Support Services regarding Workday and various people systems to troubleshoot issues.
- Researches, diagnoses, and resolves issues, e.g., end-user, business process, and security.
- Maintains accurate change management documentation to satisfy Alliant Energy’s internal and external audit controls and compliance practices.
- Leads interactive discussions with stakeholders to define requirements.
- Leads design sessions and approves design of functional requirements and specifications for new development and ongoing projects.
- Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
- Bachelor's Degree IT, Business, Product/Project Management, HR, or other related field Preferred
Required Experience
- 5 years of related experience
Preferred Experience
- Workday HCM experience preferred; Cloud-based HCM experience strongly preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience developing and configuring systems, business processes, condition and validation rules preferred
Other Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Solid understanding of Workday modules including HCM, Benefits, Advanced Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Payroll, Performance, Payroll, Recruiting and/or Talent preferred.
- Maintain working functional knowledge of assigned systems across multiple functions and teams, driving community collaboration and a commitment to a great support service experience.
- Excellent communication skills with experience working with HR, IT, and end users through face-to-face and virtual connections.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to work with all levels within the organization
- Working knowledge of Workday operations and administration
- Ability to learn new products, systems, and modules owned by HR or Financials
- Intermediate knowledge of Workday reports and security preferred
- Basic understanding of system integrations
- Must be organized with an ability to manage workload efficiently
- Detail-oriented with strong ethics and integrity
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability gathering requirements from non-technical stakeholders
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Workday certifications a plus.
