Paper Machine Technical Training Coordinator

Responsibilities include developing, implementing, directing and managing technical training and development programs, structure and content in cooperation with the operating areas in the Stevens Point Mill Paper Business Unit.

Accountabilities

• Lead and oversee the structure and plan for delivering technical training to hourly team members in all operating areas of the Paper Business Unit including OJT’s, knowledge-based courses and any other operator skill and knowledge training.
• Provide direction to site administrator, subject matter experts, technical writers, and other training and development resources as needed.
• Work with first line supervisors to oversee execution of the training process including documentation.
• Work with Human Resources personnel on recruiting, hiring and training of new hourly employees.
• Support the shutdown LOTO efforts on both paper machines.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Paper Science, Chemical Engineering or similar field OR
• 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or operations management role at a paper mill
• Prior experience in training, curriculum development and vendor management.
• Strong planning and project management skills and the ability to apply these skills in working partnerships across organizational lines.
• Ability to perform and interpret training needs analysis and use to develop training plans and corrective actions as appropriate.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Excellent computer skills and a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Work downtimes, holidays, and weekends as scheduled
• Possess ambulatory capabilities to walk extensively and climb ladders and stairways
• Be able to tolerate temperature extremes
• Work beyond normal work schedule as necessary to fulfill position responsibilities
