Skills Required
- Perform general painting for new construction, remodeling, and renovation projects
- Refinish and paint furniture and equipment in wood and metal finishes
- Prepare surfaces using spackling, joint compound, filling, shaping, and pre-coating agents
- Mix, blend, tint, tone, and match coating materials and additives
- Install vinyl wall coverings, hang wallpaper, and tape and bed drywall joints
- Perform glazing and caulking on windows and air-conditioning equipment; cut and install glass
- Cut stencils, paint directional signage, and maintain painting equipment
- Prior experience in a healthcare, hospital, or federal facility painting environment
- Familiarity with VA or other federal agency safety and quality standards
- Experience coordinating with interior designers on color and wall covering specifications
- Background in drywall taping, bedding, and finishing
- Experience reading and executing work orders or task assignments in a regulated environment

Our Kul Wicasa ancestors favored lands where the Maka Izita Ska (White River) empties into the Mni Sose (Missouri River), while the Heyata Wicasa lived higher up towards the Paha Sapa (Black Hills). In the 18th century, when French traders began to interact with our people, they translated our Sicangu name into French and began calling us the Brûlées.
