Position Summary:  To be able to work in all areas of the packing department and operate all associated equipment in a safe and productive manner. Material must be packed to customer specifications. 

2.         Major Responsibilities/Activities:

Be able to operate jib cranes and overhead cranes in a safe and productive manner.  Read special instructions as to meet customers’ requirements on specifications.  Ensure to inspect material as it is being loaded or unload at furnaces and when packing hard material.  Record information into the computer system when required  Keep area that employee is working at clean and orderly daily.  Work well with people in the area.  May be required to perform other duties in different departments during the day if Production Supervisor requires it. 

3.         Other Functions:  Should participate in programs to improve safety, quality and process improvements within the department or other production areas. 

4.         Decision Making: Will report to the lead personal and shift supervisor to ensure effective compliance to safety, productivity and maintenance issues as they apply to the department. 

  

5.         Financial Responsibility (Budget requirements, purchasing authority or recommendations, control cost):  N/A 

6.         Contacts (Interaction with staff, management, other plants, suppliers/vendors, and/or within the community):  Lead personal, shift supervisor, production manager, coworkers, quality personal and maintenance personal as needed. 
 

7.          Knowledge Skills and Abilities (Include education, experience, reasoning ability, special skills, computer ability and licenses or certifications required) Computer skills, effectively communicate verbally, self-starter.
               
8.         Supervisory Responsibilities (if any):  N/A 
 
9.         Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:   Large area, fast paced, multi-level platforms and some

This is a 1st shift position. 6am-4pm. Starting wage is based on experience and skill set. Minimum starting is at $ 21.33/hr.
