Job Description
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day accounts payable transactions including processing invoices, validating invoice coding and approvals, and matching to purchase orders.- Main responsibilities include processing invoices, validating invoice coding and approvals, and matching to purchase orders
- Process invoices for utilities, property tax, HOA, insurance and normal operating activity
- Knowledge of capitalization policy for proper coding
- Obtain W-9s from vendors prior to payment; assist with distribution of 1099s
- Assist with vendor account reconciling as requested
- Assist with month end closing ensuring work orders/invoices are closed or matched to a purchase order
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
- Provide supporting documentation for audits.
- Maintain vendor files.
- Identify and research outstanding invoices
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Yardi accounting platform a major plus
- Proficiency with Excel
- Knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
- 2 years of successful experience in an accounts payable position
- Prior property management experience a plus
- Previous customer service background
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred.
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, taking ownership of work product and completing work within specified deadlines
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Solid math and financial acumen
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Salary Range
Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate's knowledge, experience and skills.
