Job Purpose:
We are looking for Planning & Forecasting Lead with strong leadership skills and finance acumen to deliver exceptional planning and forecasting leadership to in-market Finance teams, commercial teams, and regional / area teams. The role requires building effective relationships across a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders – within the P&F Hubs, International Finance teams and other GSK teams (such as Corporate & Segment FP&A teams, GRCoE).
Success in the role requires the ability to think critically, positively challenge and influence key stakeholders at all levels. You will be instrumental in producing robust forecasts, insightful management information, and proactively identifying opportunities, and securing return on investments.
Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end planning, forecasting exercise and core commercial cycle along with embedded finance teams
- Support the development, alignment, and communication of forecasts. Provide guidance to markets / area/ region and drive quality on time completion
- Work with the Close & Control team to ensure accuracy of financial results and support financial compliance and financial risk management
- Understand variances between actuals and plans/prior periods. Provide insightful intelligence on business performance drivers, identify risks, and propose interventions to meet targets. Challenge the business to produce stretching yet achievable forecasts
- Preparing executive management reports and support decision making. Be the point of contact for questions on reports
- Perform financial modelling/appraisal & build business cases, for example trend analysis / return on investment / forecast building. Distil outputs and provide a clear summary to in market Finance teams.
- Jointly sign off plan and management results with the Finance Director
- Actively seek system and process improvements and drive efficiencies with the regional teams
- Join strategic projects as the subject matter expert on strategic projects
- Navigate the cross-functional matrix and form an internal network to provide intelligence and gather information disseminated across the different areas. Partner in-market Finance teams, commercial teams, regional teams and the Close and Control hub
- Supporting the P&F Director in bringing out efficiencies and innovation in the review/analytics process, including simplification and standardization initiatives
- Promote a healthy culture within the organisation by being a mentor to the analysts and coming up with creative trainings / topics for continuous development of the team.
Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelors or master degree in Finance or Business or Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is required for this role.
- 3-5 Years of experience is required for this role.
- Strong skills in modelling, analysis, forecasting, strategic/scenario planning, decision making.
- Understanding of financial systems and processes.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills are required.
