Overhead Operator

Shift: This role is 1st Shift, with various start times-various end times

Hourly Rate: $19.52 an hour + $$0.25 if applicable shift differential

You will work onsite at Conagra, Imlay City facilty, home of Vlasic brand pickles, pepper and relish. You will run and oversee the overhead conveyor systems. You will report to Production Leads and Team Lead. This is a regular position. One position is available for first shift and one position for second shift. In the event additional team members are required for the overhead, you will provide appropriate guidance/training. The hourly rate for this opportunity is $19.52/hour plus $0.25 second shift premium (if applicable).

What will you do?

Operator is required to maintain the overhead system. This includes ensuring cases flow smoothly and in a straight-line throughout length of conveyor system, removing open or damaged cases and disposing of them, communicating with palletizer and production leads in the event of issues, and clearing any case jams that may occur. CIL's required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure product flow on the overhead conveyers using catwalk (accessed by stairs/ladder).

• Understand the functional parts of the overhead.

• Create notifications in SAP for found defects.

• Follow standard work.

• Lift and remove cases from the overhead lines throughout the shift.

• Perform CIL's and report potential equipment issues.

• Identify operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to minimize production delays.

• Can climb stairs.

• Ensure machine and surrounding area is kept neat and sanitary.

• Adapt to changing situations.

• Communicate with co-workers, Production Leads, Quality Assurance, and Team Leads.

• Train employees.

• Complete all paperwork in a neat and orderly fashion.

• Maintain an acceptable attendance record.

• Read and interpret a variety of instructions/documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ensure actions remain consistent with plant safety goals and procedures.

• Perform safety inspections.
