Coho Consulting Group is seeking a highly skilled and creative OutSystems UI/UX Designer to join our team in delivering intuitive, visually engaging, and user-centric applications built on the OutSystems low-code platform. This role blends strong visual design capabilities with user experience expertise and requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of OutSystems UI capabilities, user-centered design principles, and design systems. They will play a key role in shaping the look and feel of our digital solutions while ensuring optimal usability, accessibility, and performance through testing and iterative improvement.
This role can be performed remotely.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
UI Design
- Design polished, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces for both web and mobile applications using the OutSystems platform.
- Translate branding and design standards into reusable screen templates and patterns.
UX Design
- Define and refine user flows, wireframes, and navigation patterns to ensure seamless and intuitive experiences.
- Conduct and support usability testing to validate design decisions and identify improvement opportunities.
- Advocate for best-in-class user experience throughout the development lifecycle.
Prototyping
- Build interactive prototypes to visualize and test application workflows prior to development.
- Facilitate design validation through user testing and stakeholder feedback sessions.
Component and Design System Contribution
- Develop and maintain components in the OutSystems UI framework.
- Ensure consistency, scalability, and reusability across all design assets and screens.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective design solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and demos.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with emerging trends in UI/UX design, mobile-first principles, accessibility (WCAG), and design tools.
- Recommend and adopt best practices to improve user engagement and product usability.
Requirements:

- Bachelors degree
- Experience:
- Proficiency in designing user interfaces using OutSystems Service Studio and understanding of UI development constraints.
- Solid understanding of visual hierarchy, interaction design, user research, and design thinking methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar tools for wireframing and prototyping.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams and contributing to iterative design and delivery cycles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to justify design decisions and present work to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to translate complex requirements into elegant, scalable, and maintainable user experiences.
- Preferred Experience:
- Certification in OutSystems UI or Reactive Web/Mobile Development.
- Experience designing for government or enterprise applications.
- Understanding of accessibility compliance (Section 508/WCAG).
