We deliver practical, compliant, and value‑driven accounting solutions that help organizations operate efficiently, stay audit‑ready, and make informed business decisions.
This role is ideal for an experienced government contracting accounting professional who enjoys owning client relationships, solving complex accounting challenges, and serving as a trusted advisor — while still staying close to the work.
The Opportunity

You’ll also collaborate with CFO Advisors to help clients understand their financial results and plan for growth.
What You’ll Do
- Manage day‑to‑day outsourced accounting services for assigned government contracting clients
- Own project management of accounting deliverables, schedules, and month‑end close
- Oversee and manage audits and reviews (DCAA, CPA, incurred cost submissions, etc.)
- Develop and manage indirect rate structures, budgets, forecasts, and cost submissions
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including variance and trend analysis
- Identify and resolve accounting, system, and process issues
- Prepare clear, client‑ready summaries of results, forecasts, and improvement opportunities
- Partner with CEOs and leadership teams on financial decision‑making and scenario analysis, in conjunction with CFO Advisors
- Manage work with limited oversight, exercising sound judgment and initiative
- Review and oversee the work of support staff to ensure accuracy and quality
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within government contracting
- Prior experience working for or with government contractors
- Hands‑on experience with Unanet, Costpoint, QuickBooks, or similar job‑cost accounting systems (required)
- Strong command of general ledger accounting, job costing, and GAAP
- Working knowledge of FAR requirements, DCAA compliance, and indirect rate structures
- Experience managing audits and interacting with external auditors
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and client‑service skills — able to translate numbers into insights
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to oversee, review, and ensure the quality of work performed by others
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
