As Outside Sales- Mining Industrial- you will assist with technical support for Mining and Industrial related PVF products sold by Wolseley in your defined territory.  You will work closely under Jason Santha- National Sales Manager- Mining with assistance from either the Branch Manager or Inside Sales team in your territory. In addition to the above you will be selecting & specifying product lines & analyzing offerings, reviewing pricing and establishing market relevance based on customer requirements. You will be responsible for being the liaison to the customer in answering inquiries, dealing with issues and solving problems in a positive, collaborative manner to ensure a superior level of customer experience.

What you will do:

  • Provide Industrial PVF & technical support to Wolseley customers and associates from your defined working location.

  • Ensure timely follow up & reporting on all relevant quotations as well as logging backup emails or conversations related to projects, customer and vendor quotes all with the accuracy of handing off of orders to the inside sales team.

  • Complete small/medium sized quotations and/or hand off large projects with clear guidance to your sales manager at the start of a project.

  • Work closely with our key vendors in your territory to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships.

  • Coordinate all required information for the preparation of final submittals, including plans, drawings and other documents to both end customers and vendors.

  • Interpret customer requirements early and match products to customer specifications and drawings while communicating back to the Mining project team or Inside Sales Rep.

  • Ensure quotations are technically compatible by communicating with other departments and staff to determine and clarify project requirements. Involvement in margin discussions where appropriate.

  • Gather required data for small to medium sized quote preparation. Logging data in Salesforce under the opportunity to enable team the access of important information.

  • Maintain various data bases such as Salesforce with Win/loss ratios, sales call information and project plans.   

  • Maintain a yearly target customer plan with budget goals and targets.

  • Attend industry related events on a case by case basis as outlined and approved by your manager.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum of 2-3+ years of experience in a similar role with strong business and customer service background preferably in a Mining or technical sales environment

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office products. Intermediate level Excel skills required.

  • Sales quotation background a plus.

  • Strong ability to work with operational departments and branches following processes.

  • Excellent communications, time management and organization skills are essential to success.

  • Ability to travel to various customer locations 3 days a week outside, 2 days Inside Sales In-branch.

  • Strong analytical and data management skills are key.

  • Must be patient, highly organized and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
