Job Summary
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for managing customer accounts and driving sales growth for pipe products by serving as the primary customer contact throughout the sales process. This role partners with cross-functional teams to develop quotations, resolve customer issues, identify new business opportunities, and deliver exceptional customer service. The position builds strong customer relationships, supports strategic sales initiatives, and helps increase market share while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the sales organization and cross-functional teams to secure and expand market share for A106 and A53B pipe products by supporting customers throughout the concept, design, development, production, and delivery phases
- Manage assigned customer accounts and oversee day-to-day account activities to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth
- Lead customer communications and escalation management across the organization, balancing customer needs with company objectives and policies
- Utilize the technical feasibility review process to evaluate customer inquiries, coordinate internal reviews, and develop accurate, competitive quotations
- Identify sales opportunities, schedule customer meetings, conduct follow-up activities, and drive opportunities through the sales cycle to successful closure
- Partner with Customer Service and internal stakeholders to resolve issues promptly and maintain strong customer relationships
- Support the Sales Director/Head of Sales in developing and executing short-term and long-term sales strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives
- Serve as the voice of the customer internally, ensuring exceptional service across all customer touchpoints to foster trust, loyalty, and long-term partnerships
- Provide guidance to internal teams regarding customer-specific requirements, expectations, and processes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that align organizational capabilities, operational efficiencies, and customer growth objectives
- Analyze market data, customer feedback, and business trends to identify opportunities for growth and improve customer engagement strategies
- Support customer account management activities, including new product introductions and product launch processes
- Recommend materials, products, or equipment improvements to customers, demonstrating how proposed solutions can reduce costs, improve performance, or increase productivity
- Maintain the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and compliance in all business activities
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication, responsiveness, and problem-solving
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Sales Management
