As an Outside Sales Representative, you will play a key role in supporting sales growth across the Midwest territory (MO/KS/OK/LA/MS/AR) while developing the skills and experience needed to progress into a Regional Sales Manager role. Our team is looking for someone who is driven, relationship-focused, and energized by identifying new opportunities and building strong partnerships with customers. In this role, you will work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to manage a defined group of integrator and distributor accounts, generate and qualify new business opportunities, and promote Valcom’s paging, intercom, and emergency communication solutions across the education, healthcare, and industrial/commercial markets.What You’ll Do- Manage day-to-day relationships with an assigned portfolio of integrator and distributor accounts within the territory, serving as their primary Valcom point of contact.
- Prospect, qualify, and develop new integrator, contractor, and end-user opportunities; hand off or co-manage larger opportunities with the Regional Sales Manager.
- Conduct product demonstrations, lunch-and-learns, and counter days at integrator and distributor locations.
- Support the Regional Sales Manager on strategic and large-project pursuits, including site walks, bid follow-up, and quote coordination with inside teams.
- Follow up on marketing leads, quotations, and open orders; maintain accurate activity, pipeline, and forecast records in the CRM.
- Track construction bid activity and specifications in the territory; work with consultants and engineers to get Valcom specified on K-12, healthcare, and commercial projects.
- Coordinate with Sales Engineering to deliver technical support and engineered-solution assistance to channel partners.
- Represent Valcom at regional trade shows, association events (e.g., education and healthcare facility associations), and partner events.
- Monitor and report competitive activity, pricing pressure, and market trends within the territory.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team goals and project milestones.
Experience That Drives Success
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 1–3 years of B2B sales, inside sales, sales support, or customer-facing technical experience.
- Strong presentation, relationship-building, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively within the territory.
- Residence within, or willingness to relocate to, the Midwest territory (MO/KS/OK/LA/MS/AR).
Key Strengths & Skills
- Consultative selling and prospecting skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and match them to product solutions.
- Strong presentation and demonstration skills for audiences ranging from installing technicians to district administrators and facility directors.
- Technical aptitude to learn and explain voice, paging, and emergency communication products, including basic IP networking concepts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills across integrator, distributor, and end-user contacts.
- Strong organization and time management, with the ability to plan territory travel and manage priorities with limited supervision.
- Self-motivated and coachable, with the persistence to succeed in a long-cycle, spec-driven sales environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Regional Sales Manager, supporting shared account strategies, communicating territory activity openly, and applying coaching and direction to grow in the role.
- Maintain regular, structured communication with the Regional Sales Manager, including weekly activity reviews, joint account planning, and transparent reporting on pipeline, wins, and losses.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in low-voltage, AV, security, life safety, telecommunications, or a related technology industry
- Familiarity with two-step distribution and integrator/dealer channel models
- Exposure to the construction bid/spec process (Division 27/28)
- Bilingual English/Spanish a strong plus in this territory

This is a full-time position, working remotely and traveling up to 75% within Midwest territory (MO/KS/OK/LA/MS/AR). The expected schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, but an occasional shift in hours may be necessary to accommodate project schedules.
