Success in this role looks like:

  • New Business: Generate 4 to 6 new business opportunities per month upon full ramp.
  • Daily Activity: Maintain a disciplined field presence with 30+ business stops and 5 proactive account health check-ins daily.
  • Retention: Minimizing portfolio churn by proactively executing 5 daily "Know Your Customer" (KYC) check-ins to triage technical or operational issues before they escalate.

Core Responsibilities

Sales:
  • Identify, prospect, and set appointments, and run the Gravity sales process with new prospects through fast-paced B2B prospecting primarily in the field and occasionally on the phone (targeting both English-speaking and Korean-speaking business sectors).
  • Facilitate an education-based, transparent decision-making process with potential clients.
  • Meet or exceed individual and team sales targets.
  • Increase the number of active merchants and strengthen our overall ability to serve local businesses.
Account Management:
  • Manage a portfolio of merchant accounts by prioritizing and building deep relationship trust.

  • Effectively triage with other internal departments when clients experience terminal difficulties or operational issues.
  • Perform rate reviews, financial evaluations, and contract renewals.
  • Reach out to inactive merchant accounts to restore partnerships.
  • Participate in weekly strategy meetings, hurdles reviews, and mock role-plays to develop the team's skill sets.
  • Facilitate account maintenance in person, virtually, or over the phone as needed.
  • Install payment processing equipment and assist with specialized language configurations or training (1-2 hours per setup).
  • Visit partnered local bank branches weekly to capture community referrals.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in outside sales, customer support, account management, or a customer-facing role.

What We Do

We exist to stand with the little guy or gal business owner who believes in the American Dream and is willing to work to chase it. We do this by removing the headaches and hassles so often associated with accepting payments--from hidden fees, to shoddy service, to jargon-filled contracts that are impossible to understand. We pride ourselves on delivering friendly, world-class, in-house customer service and taking the time to work with every merchant to come up with a processing solution that works for them. We believe in putting purpose ahead of profit and strive to act with honesty, transparency, and integrity in every interaction so our clients can focus on running their businesses instead of worrying about how they’re going to get paid. At Gravity, we support our merchants by supporting our team. In addition to our $70,000 annual minimum wage, we offer flexible work arrangements, open paid time off, full benefits, travel opportunities, cross-training, and the ability to create your own career path. Our "Be-Your-Own-CEO" culture empowers all employees to suggest ideas, make decisions, solve problems, and lead initiatives that will help the team, and our compensation philosophy allows each team member to set their own salary goals in consultation with their manager.
