- Identify, engage, and develop new customer relationships within Life Sciences (such as pharmaceutical, biotech, and CDMO organizations) and, where relevant, batch chemical manufacturing.
- Create demand in new and emerging accounts by engaging customers early—often before formal projects or specifications are defined.
- Build and execute a structured territory and account development plan to generate a sustainable, high-quality sales pipeline.
- Establish trusted relationships with a broad range of customer stakeholders, including Operations, Engineering, Quality/Validation, IT/Digital teams, and site or business leadership.
- Position Emerson’s automation and digital portfolio as an integrated, lifecycle-focused solution that addresses operational, regulatory, and business challenges.
- Lead consultative, value-based discussions and coordinate internal technical experts as needed to support customer success.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including pre-sales, services, and delivery, to ensure a consistent and positive customer experience.
- Maintain accurate opportunity information and pipeline management within CRM systems, with a focus on long-term (12–24 month) opportunity horizons.
- Act with integrity and in alignment with Emerson’s ethics, compliance, and trade requirements in all customer and business activities.
- Share market insights and customer feedback to support continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
- Experience supporting or selling solutions within Life Sciences (pharma, biotech, CDMO) and/or batch chemical industries.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and early customer engagement.
- Experience or strong interest in consultative, solution-oriented selling within technical or regulated environments.
- The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A working understanding of automation, digital solutions, or software-driven manufacturing concepts, or the ability to learn and apply them quickly.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and pipeline management skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
- Proficiency in Italian and English sufficient for customer-facing and internal collaboration.
- Familiarity with process automation, manufacturing software, or digital transformation initiatives in regulated environments.
- A track record of engaging customers early in their decision-making process and influencing long-term strategies.
- Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused outcomes.
