POSITION SUMMARY:

The Child & Adolescent outpatient Therapist is responsible for providing professional mental health services to an assigned caseload. These services shall include assessment, service planning, individual, group or family-based interventions. The Clinician/Case Manager provides these services within the scope of their professional discipline.

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, guidance or other mental health discipline from an accredited school.
  • CAFAS Certified within 6 months of hire date.
  • Appropriate professional registration/certification by State/national authority required (L.M.S.W., L.L.P., R.N., etc.)
  • Has one year experience and training in examination, evaluation and treatment of individuals with emotional disorders
  • Bi-lingual (writing and speaking) Spanish and English preferred
  • Knowledge of child development and childhood psychiatric disorders
  • Ability to function effectively as part of a professional team delivering services to children and families
  • Knowledge of family systems and ability to engage families to work collaboratively in the development of treatment plans
  • Ability to function independently in the community
  • Working knowledge of community resources
  • Willingness to do outreach and provide services in the location that best meets the needs of the children
  • Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions
  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere and comply with the Michigan Mental Health Code, HIPAA and SWCS Code of Ethics and policies and procedures
  • Ability to use a computer and working with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
