Job Description

We are seeking a customer-focused and highly organised Outpatient Coordinator to join our welcoming Outpatient Administration team on a casual basis. As an integral member of the team, you will contribute to exceptional patient care by ensuring a positive, efficient and supportive experience at every stage of the outpatient journey.

As the first point of contact for many patients and visitors, you will deliver exceptional customer service while coordinating a range of administrative processes, from referral management and pre-admissions through to service delivery and discharge. Working closely with Allied Health, Nursing teams and Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs), you will help create a positive and efficient experience for everyone who enters our service.

You will make an impact by:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, medical staff and colleagues
  • Providing a professional, welcoming and efficient reception service
  • Coordinating and managing outpatient referrals accurately and efficiently
  • Supporting administrative processes across the patient journey, including pre-admission, admission, service delivery and discharge
  • Ensuring referrals meet Health Fund and compensable funding requirements
  • Building positive working relationships with Allied Health, Nursing teams and VMOs
  • Contributing to a collaborative team culture focused on delivering outstanding patient experiences

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer and administrative skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Previous experience in a hospital, healthcare or medical administration environment
  • Proven ability to prioritise competing demands and work effectively in a fast-paced setting
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional customer service standards
  • A positive, adaptable and team-focused approach
  • The confidence to engage and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
