JOB DESCRIPTION
The Outbound Selector is a key member of the warehouse team responsible for accurately and efficiently selecting and preparing customer orders for delivery. This role requires a higher level of skill and responsibility, demonstrating increased efficiency, accuracy, and the ability to handle more complex orders.
Schedule :
Sunday , Monday , Tuesday , Thursday and Friday - 02:00 A.M. - 10:30 A.M.
Wednesday and Saturday - OFF
Responsibilities:
Order Selection:
- Palletize and effectively organize finished products.
- Organize finish product cooler and put away at the end of production.
- Vigilantly monitor product quality.
- Coordinate with other workstations to ensure order competition.
- Put away finish product and raw material at the end of the shift.
- Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
- Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
- Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Equipment Operation:
- Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice-directed picking systems.
Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
Teamwork:
- May assist in training new selectors on safe work practices and order selection procedures.
- Collaborate with other warehouse personnel to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
Skills:
- Order Selection: Proven ability to accurately and efficiently select orders with minimal errors.
- Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice-directed picking systems.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) frequently.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy when selecting and staging orders.
- Safety Awareness: Strong awareness of safety procedures and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and assist in training new team members.
Certifications:
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Voice-directed picking system training preferred.
Education:
High school diploma or GED
Experience:
2+ years of experience
