As an Outbound Commercial Manager at Flapkap, you are responsible for driving new business growth by managing the entire sales cycle—from prospecting and lead generation to negotiation and closing. Your mission is to identify and engage potential customers, understand their business needs, present tailored solutions, and convert opportunities into long-term clients.

You are not simply generating leads; you are owning revenue generation from the first outreach through to signed agreements, directly contributing to the company's growth and market expansion.

Core ResponsibilitiesProspecting & Lead Generation
  • Identify and engage SME prospects through cold calling, referrals, networking, databases, social media, and other lead-generation channels.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of businesses that match the company's target customer profile and lending criteria.
  • Research target companies to understand their business model, industry, growth stage, and potential financing needs.
Consultative Sales & Needs Assessment
  • Conduct discovery conversations with business owners and decision-makers to understand their operational challenges, growth plans, and funding requirements.
  • Assess the suitability of prospects for the company's lending products based on predefined eligibility criteria.
  • Educate prospective clients on available financing solutions and articulate the value proposition clearly.
Full-Cycle Sales Management
  • Own the complete sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through application support, negotiation, and deal closure.
  • Guide clients through the funding application process and ensure timely collection of required documentation.
  • Collaborate with credit, risk, and operations teams to facilitate efficient processing and approval of applications.
  • Follow up proactively with prospects to address concerns, overcome objections, and maximize conversion rates.
Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with SME owners, founders, and key stakeholders.
  • Deliver a high-quality customer experience throughout the sales journey.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business, referrals, and portfolio growth.
CRM & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and pipeline activity within the CRM system.
  • Track and report key sales metrics including outreach activities, conversion rates, funded deals, and revenue generated.
Market Intelligence
  • Stay informed about SME financing trends, competitor offerings, and market developments.
  • Provide customer and market feedback to support product enhancement and commercial strategy.

Requirements
  • 2–3 years of experience in outbound sales, business development, account management, or a similar client-facing sales role.
  • Experience in SME lending, fintech, banking, commercial finance, merchant cash advance (MCA), working capital solutions, or other B2B financial services is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales and revenue targets in a target-driven environment.
  • Strong experience managing the full sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through negotiation and deal closure.
  • Excellent prospecting, cold-calling, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to engage confidently with business owners, founders, finance managers, and other key decision-makers.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
