Position Summary:
The Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry (OURI) at Florida Atlantic University is seeking an OURI Program Coordinator - Boca Raton, FL.
The OURI Program Coordinator supports the Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry by managing key programs that promote student engagement in research across all campuses. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, this role oversees the Undergraduate Research Grants and Peer Mentor programs, co-coordinates the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, and supports outreach through workshops, presentations, and mentoring. The coordinator also assists with program assessments, maintains student engagement data, supports OURI communications, and contributes to office initiatives as needed. This position is central to promoting and expanding undergraduate research involvement throughout the university.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Coordinate and organize the undergraduate research grants program two times per year, including organizing, finalizing, ensuring research compliance, awarding, and assessment of applications and abstracts associated with this program.
Coordinate the OURI Peer Mentor program to include organizing their participation in outreach, presentations, events, and workshops on research and inquiry opportunities across all campuses.
Co-coordinate the hosting of the annual undergraduate research symposium including organizing the event space, initiating the online application process, recruiting judges and volunteers, collecting and reviewing abstracts, organizing all presentations for the day of the event, assisting all student presenters, overseeing and coordinating all event preparation items such as the event agenda, sign-in table items, oral presentation schedule, poster placement, tabling groups, judges, participants, guests, etc.
Conduct assessments of UGR grants and peer mentor program, and other office programs, including tagging students engaged in undergraduate research and updating the OURI student Access database.
Mentor students through Navigate to support the involvement of an increased number of lower-division students at URI.
Host workshops, classroom presentations, and tabling on OURI, LEARN, and VIP programs as needed on multiple campuses.
Assist with maintaining the OURI website and email.
Serve on committees as needed.
Perform other job-related duties and support other activities and programs associated with the office as needed.
