We are seeking a motivated and eager Intern to join our Operational Technology Infrastructure Team. As a Network Administrator Intern, you will gain valuable hands-on experience and exposure to the day-to-day operations of our Operational Technology Networking Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow professionally, learn new skills, and contribute to exciting projects in the OT Networking field.Summer 2025 Internship. Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist team members with various tasks and projects.
Learn and apply industry-specific tools and software.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
Assist in configuring, testing, and commissioning network components including VPN connections, cell modems, firewalls, routers, network switches, end devices, and fiber ring networks.
Help generate project documentation including network commissioning documents, network architecture diagrams, access control lists, firewall rules, as-built drawings, and training materials.
Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and field technicians for on-site commissioning and installation support.
Document processes and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Engage in hands-on learning and apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Information Technology, Networking, or a related engineering field.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic understanding of network components such as Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewalls, Dell PowerEdge Servers, Cradlepoint cellular modems, and SFP modules.
Foundational knowledge of WAN, LAN, and VPN networks, including the relationship between network infrastructure and IP-enabled devices.
Basic understanding of TCP/IP switching and routing.
Familiarity with Ethernet cabling, single-mode, and multimode fiber optic design standards and applications.
Basic knowledge of authentication and access control principles.
Exposure to VPN configuration, administration, and connectivity support.
Basic knowledge of virtual and physical server architecture and networking.
Familiarity with the OSI model and its application to systematic troubleshooting and problem resolution.
