OT Network Engineer
Role Summary
We are seeking an OT Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, and operation of secure, resilient network infrastructure for hyperscale data centre environments in Siziano, Milan. The role supports Operational Technology systems including Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and other critical site infrastructure.
Working with internal technology, engineering, operations, and vendor teams, you will help maintain network availability, performance, and security while supporting troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring regular presence across local data centre sites in the Siziano/Milan area.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and optimise network infrastructure for OT environments across critical data centre sites.
- Install, configure, and support routers, switches, firewalls, and related network devices to maintain performance, resilience, and service continuity.
- Monitor network performance, investigate complex incidents, work with internal teams and vendors, and help drive root cause resolution and continuous improvement.
- Support monitoring, alerting, backup, testing, validation, and documentation activities across OT network systems.
- Apply security, operational, and regulatory best practices in a high-availability environment.
- Participate in out-of-hours or emergency support when required to maintain service continuity.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise, critical infrastructure, or data centre environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies, Fortinet security solutions, and network infrastructure including LAN/WAN, firewalls, switches, routers, wireless networking, VPN, OSPF, VLANs, and TCP/IP.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, troubleshooting, and operational support in high-availability environments.
- Experience supporting or working with OT systems such as BMS, EPMS, SCADA, PLCs, and HMIs is desirable.
- Knowledge of infrastructure cabling, monitoring, management, documentation, and reporting tools, with scripting or automation tools including Bash or Python an advantage.
- Awareness of standards and compliance requirements such as ISO, SOC 2, and PCI-DSS is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills in Italian and English, with commitment to accurate technical documentation and disciplined operational processes.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred, although equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

La fascia retributiva indicata rappresenta il range previsto per il ruolo. La retribuzione sarà determinata in modo equo e trasparente all'interno di tale fascia, sulla base dell'esperienza professionale, delle competenze e delle qualifiche del candidato.
Location requirement:
Due to the hybrid nature of this role, candidates should be based close to Milan or have confirmed plans to relocate to the area. Please note that we cannot consider applicants based outside Italy for this opportunity.
