Your opportunity

The way an organisation is designed shapes how effectively it can deliver on its purpose. At Mission Australia, we are seeking an Organisational Design Specialist who can help shape the structures, operating models and workforce solutions that enable our strategy to come to life. Working closely with Executives and senior leaders, you will lead complex organisational design initiatives, provide trusted strategic advice, and guide change that strengthens organisational effectiveness, supports our people, and helps us deliver on our vision of building hope and possibility for all.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead enterprise-wide organisational design, operating model and workforce transformation initiatives aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Analyse workforce, capability and financial data to provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Facilitate workshops, consultation forums and governance discussions to support informed decision-making and sustainable outcomes.
  • Develop executive papers, business cases, frameworks, transition plans and implementation materials.
  • Provide expert advice on organisational restructuring, workforce planning and organisation-wide change initiatives.
  • Support governance processes, risk assessments and post-implementation reviews to ensure effective delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute workforce insights and people impact assessments to strategic projects and business cases.
  • Champion ethical, compliant and values-aligned organisational design practices across the organisation.

Requirements for success

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Employee Relations, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
  • Experience leading complex organisational design, operating model, job architecture and workforce transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale organisational change and restructuring programs.
  • Understanding of employment legislation, industrial instruments and HR frameworks.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including experience influencing senior leaders and executives.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting workforce, financial and organisational data.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication and report-writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
