Cardo Systems, the global market leader in wireless communication systems for motorcycle and outdoor helmets, is looking for a Global Shipping Specialist to join our Operations team.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing Cardo's global logistics activities, ensuring efficient and compliant transportation of materials and products worldwide. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers to support business operations, drive process improvements, and deliver cost-effective logistics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Global Transportation Management
- Manage and coordinate international inbound and outbound shipments via air, ocean, courier, and ground transportation.
- Ensure on-time delivery of materials, finished goods, samples, and service parts across global locations.
- Monitor shipment status, identify potential risks, and proactively resolve transportation issues.
- Coordinate urgent shipments and premium freight activities when required.
Import & Export Operations
- Manage import and export processes while ensuring compliance with local and international trade regulations.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, customs declarations, certificates, and commercial invoices.
- Coordinate customs clearance activities with brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company shipping policies and regulatory requirements.
Carrier & Freight Forwarder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders, couriers, customs brokers, and transportation providers.
- Evaluate and negotiate transportation solutions based on cost, lead time, and service requirements.
- Monitor carrier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead transportation escalations and resolve delivery issues.
Logistics Cost & Performance Management
- Analyze logistics expenses and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Monitor transportation KPIs and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Optimize transportation modes and routing strategies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, service, and operational efficiency.
Process Improvement & Systems Management
- Drive logistics process improvements and operational excellence initiatives.
- Support implementation and optimization of shipping and transportation systems.
- Develop reports and dashboards to improve logistics visibility and decision-making.
- Maintain logistics procedures and documentation according to company standards.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in international shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of import/export processes and customs regulations.
- Experience managing global transportation providers and freight forwarders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) – a strong advantage.
- Experience with BI and logistics reporting tools.
- Experience working with Priority ERP – an advantage.
- Fluent English, both written and verbal.
