Job Description

The Order Expeditor is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient processing and fulfillment of customer orders within the distribution center. This role involves tracking order progress, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, coordinating with various departments, and communicating order status to management. The Order Expeditor plays a critical role in maintaining efficiency KPIs by ensuring orders are shipped accurately and on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor orders in process, proactively identifying and addressing any potential delays or issues
  • Investigate and resolve order discrepancies such as allocation shortage/missing pieces
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff (picking, packing, shipping) to expedite urgent orders and ensure timely processing
  • Communicate with customer management to address rush requests and provide order status updates
  • Work with inventory control to ensure orders are fully allocated from the correct pick locations
  • Prioritize workload based on order urgency and customer requirements.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software to track orders and manage inventory.
  • Assist in training new employees on order fulfillment processes.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of order fulfillment processes, including picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pound
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), WMS (Manhattan Scale)
