About the Role

As an Oracle DBA, you'll be responsible for the core health, performance, and reliability of our database landscape—primarily Oracle, but also supporting platforms like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server. We operate in a hybrid environment, and your contributions will directly impact our infrastructure scalability, observability, and automation maturity.

• Take ownership of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and GoldenGate configurations across multiple environments.
• Support database platforms like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server—ensuring consistency, security, and high availability.
• Handle backups, patching, and upgrades using RMAN and automated workflows.
• Tune SQL queries and help application teams fix performance bottlenecks using AWR, ASH, and explain plans.
• Design disaster recovery strategies across hybrid cloud and on-prem setups.
• Set up smart observability systems using tools like OEM, Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch.
• Build automation for common DBA tasks using Shell, Python, or Ansible.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and SREs to optimize data pipelines and CI/CD processes.

• Document standards and best practices, and create clear, reusable runbooks.
  Desired Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Oracle databases in enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate; plus familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL
  Server.
• A knack for performance tuning, debugging, and diving deep into database internals.
• Comfort working in hybrid environments—across on-prem servers and public cloud (AWS, OCI,
  Azure).
• Scripting knowledge (Shell, Python) and DevOps mindset (Ansible, Jenkins, GitOps).
• Experience integrating databases into CI/CD pipelines and observability stacks.
• Understanding of security, compliance (GDPR, SOX), and data protection practices.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms.

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) - 11g/12c/19c
• Specialization in Oracle RAC or GoldenGate
• Cloud database certifications (AWS, Azure, OCI)
