The Expert Optical Engineer will be part of our OEI R&D team that deals with a variety of domains such as lasers, refractive and diffractive optics, cameras, glass and polymer optics.
The Expert Optical design engineer will be responsible for developing non-conventional optical parts and modules. He will work closely with other optical engineers, as well as electronics, mechanics and algorithm developers
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct optical simulations and analysis of optical parts/systems.
- Lead optical R&D activities to support Align product development.
- Participate in all phases of the hardware and the full product development cycle.
- Develop technical documentation, standards, and procedures.
- Work closely relevant optics vendors to align on requirements
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- MSc degree in Physics/Optical engineering
- 12+ years in design of optical
- 10 years of experience in imaging systems in R&D environment products/company
- Expert in raytracing simulation tools, preferably Zemax
- Knowledge of programing languages Python / LabView - advantage
- Good knowledge/understanding in light & imaging including sensors/detectors, lasers, polarization, radiometry/photometry
- Hands on skill - particularly assembling and disassembling of precision opto-mechanical assemblies and building lab setups- advantage
- Basic understanding in electronics and mechanics for effective interdisciplinary communication
- Fluent in Hebrew and English, written and oral
