We are seeking talented software engineer with a strong foundation in optical communications to join our team. You will leverage commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products to develop customised systems that orchestrate, monitor and optimise optical communication networks to meet stakeholders' needs.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualise, design and develop advanced optical communications solutions by integrating in-house developed component and COTS products.
- Develop middleware and control planes to interface software applications with optical appliances.
- Conduct research and development (R&D) on the latest and upcoming optical communications systems to address evolving security challenges.
- Opportunities to evaluate new products and wide range of interesting optical communications technologies.
Requirements
- Background in Computer/Electrical engineering or equivalent qualifications.
- Proficient in JavaScript or Python, familiar with message brokers and REST API design and good understanding of microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of communication systems theory, signal processing concepts and optical transport technologies.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot optical communication network issues and have experience with lab instruments such as spectrum analysers, optical scopes and network tester.
As CSIT is an agency under the Ministry of Defence (Singapore), only Singapore Citizens will be considered.
Skills Required
- Degree/background in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications
- Knowledge of optical transport technologies and fibre optics components (e.g., splitters, amplifiers)
- Knowledge of communication systems theory and signal processing concepts
- Ability to diagnose and analyse fibre optic telecommunications transport system issues
- Competent in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript
- Experience with lab instruments such as spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes and network testers
- Must be a Singapore Citizen
