Position Summary

The Operations Supervisor – Industrial Services is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing and supporting in-plant industrial services, environmental projects, and emergency response activities. This position leads field crews while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer expectations and TAS standards.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience with job walks, project scoping and quoting, vacuum truck operations, hydro blasting, confined space cleaning, and hazmat emergency response. This role requires a strong field leader who can effectively coordinate crews and equipment, provide operational guidance, maintain customer relationships, and lead by example by working alongside the team when needed.

Operations Supervisor - Industrial Services Job Duties:

  • Lead and actively perform in-plant industrial services and environmental emergency response work.
  • Conduct job walks to assess site conditions, hazards, labor, equipment, and project requirements.
  • Assist with job quoting and estimating based on scope, manpower, equipment, materials, and operational needs.
  • Lead and perform industrial cleaning using vacuum trucks, hydro blasting equipment, and related industrial service equipment.
  • Lead confined space entry and cleaning projects in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to hazardous material and environmental emergencies and provide field leadership during response operations.
  • Plan and direct daily field activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within scope.
  • Supervise and develop field crews by assigning work, providing hands-on direction, and leading by example.
  • Conduct pre-job safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard assessments; reinforce PPE and safe work practices.
  • Identify operational or safety concerns and take prompt corrective action to minimize risk and downtime.
  • Maintain clear customer communication regarding job progress, changing conditions, and service needs.
  • Maintain required job, equipment, and safety documentation; perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial or environmental services, emergency response, or a similar industry; field leadership experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with job walks, quoting, vacuum trucks, hydro blasting, confined space cleaning, and hazmat emergency response required.
  • OSHA 30-Hour and HAZWOPER 40-Hour certifications preferred.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial services, environmental services, or a related field.
  • Previous experience leading field crews and industrial service projects.
  • Hands-on experience with vacuum truck operations, hydro blasting, confined space entry and cleaning, and industrial cleaning services.
  • Experience with hazardous materials and emergency response operations.
  • Experience conducting job walks, evaluating project scope, and assisting with job quoting/estimating.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial safety practices, PPE requirements, and safe work procedures.
  • Ability to effectively plan work, coordinate crews and equipment, and respond to changing field conditions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER and OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and respond to emergency and after-hours assignments as business needs require.

Physical Requirements: 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear 
  • This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times 
  • The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 60 pounds 
  • Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders 
  • May occasionally deal with heights 
  • Ability to wear Personal Equipment, including Respiratory Protection 
  • Consists of both office setting and physical jobsite 
  • Able to work in confined spaces when needed
