Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
Guides support services to improve operations from a systems approach, under occasional guidance. Conducts current and future process mapping, and recommends and implements changes that add to the value stream in order to meet financial targets and improve quality of care, patient safety, and overall patient satisfaction. Shares knowledge of Lean tools for continuous improvement and guides others in financial analysis of projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Develops project plans to include problem statement, current state, root cause analysis, future state, solutions, action plan, expected benefit, verification and follow up. • Demonstrates proficiency in value stream mapping. • Leads continuous improvement projects that improve VUMC operations. • Demonstrates use of appropriate analytical tools to address issues and mentors others on identifying the appropriate analytical tools. • Demonstrates effective mentoring and development skills for team members. • The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned. TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES • Process Improvement (Intermediate): Identifies, analyzes and improves upon existing business processes for optimization and to meet standards of quality. • Analytical Skills (Intermediate): The process of identifying, evaluating, interpreting and organizing data. It includes sorting through data to identify patterns and establish relationships for decision making. • Coaching (Intermediate): The capability, normally based on a specific expertise, to influence others, manage the relationship and deliver results for a client in a professional manner.  Coaches senior leaders and executive leadership towards solutions and implementation of actions. • Problem Solving (Intermediate): Uses critical thinking and process improvement i.e. coaches and mentors development of problem statement, describes current state, identifies root causes, creates future state, coaches and mentors development of solutions and action plans with a sustainability plan. Applies appropriate tools to address issues.
