The Role

OEx Leader - San Antonio

Functional objectives:

  • Assesses current business performance, identifies gaps, establishes and implements improvement plans, monitors progress, and facilitates/shares/acquires best-in-class ideas and processes in line with general CI procedures.
  • Assure the definition and implementation of Best Business Metrics and Practices in all areas in accordance with Global Best Business Practices activities.
  • Encourage a culture of Continuous Improvement within the business area.

Main Tasks:

  • Identifies gaps in Best Business Practice Metrics, develops and executes improvement plans and strategies. Assesses the current state of plant operations.
  • Develops a plant vision and drives the development of roadmaps to ensure vision execution.
  • Facilitates and drives improvement teams or works in cooperation with the OEX Manager to implement improvement plans. Assists process owners to identify barriers to project success.
  • Measures and tracks performance of continuous improvement projects. Ensures alignment of metrics with Clarios standards
  • Document improvement process learning and facilitate the sharing of best practices with other OEX Leaders and with the OEX Managers
  • Supervises OEX practitioner (future) staff in the plants.
  • Promotes the utilization of DMAIC methodologies as well as any other problem-solving methodologies where applicable.
  • Accountable for assisting teams to capture financial savings resulting from performance-based improvements.
  • Champions change management and assists plant manager in delivering strategic/operational excellence initiatives that will aid in compliance with standards or the implementation of new products, processes or other cost-effective solutions that will continuously improve the performance of the plants.
  • Develop a data-analytics roadmap 4.0 that prepares further opportunities to move from pure data analytics to process predictions and the implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and traceability programs and other alfa / beta initiatives (i.e., HPT - High Performance Teams)
  • Recruits, hires, and retains operational staff. Prepares and delivers clear performance expectations, performance reviews and development plans for direct reports teaming with the appropriate matrix functional manager. Ensures a consistent level of coaching.
  • Will be responsible of cost hard savings projects (i.e., OEE, productivity, MUV, Scrap, etc.)

Education and professional knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, related field of study or equivalent work
  • Strong interest in Industry 4.0 topics (e.g., augmented reality, IoT, data mining)
  • Culture of "Continuous Improvement Thinking" across the organization

San Antonio - Distribution Center

Our San Antonio, Texas distribution center charges, packages, and ships the batteries used in cars, boats, motorcycles, and heavy-duty trucks. We opened in 1995, now employ more than 265 people, and operate six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give back through Toys for Tots, The Strong Foundation and Soldier's Angels.
