THE ROLE:
Our dynamic team in the ROC is seeking a highly motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative and positive team environment. As the Operator, you will play a crucial role in providing remote expertise to the field operations execution team, ensuring the safe operation of wells, water assets, and compression. In this role, you will actively collaborate with cross functional team members in real-time to optimize production and minimize operational costs. You will carry out all daily activities within the framework of our safety-first approach.
This Calgary-based position operates on a 7 days on, 7 days off shift rotation with 12-hour shifts. The rotation alternates between days and nights. Some travel to our field operations is required.
This is a Safety Sensitive Position, and therefore you must be able to pass pre-employment and pre-access drug and alcohol screening.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
- Take ownership of real-time monitoring and promptly dispatch appropriate responses to field alarms, while conducting thorough root cause evaluations and analyses
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and pigging support, effectively manage both remote control operations and manual overrides
- Collaborate with team members to determine and communicate daily operational activities, actively contribute to the 7-day planning cycle, and coordinate logistics for urgent and critical activities when needed
- Be the primary point of contact for the Field Operations execution team; respond to queries, field support requirements, safety concerns, and production events
- Create thorough work order requests using Maximo, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all documentation
- Initiate effective action plans to resolve regulator inspection deficiencies identified by Operations and/or Regulators, including Technical Safety BC
- Analyze, interpret, and validate PVR field data, This includes downtime coding, fuel flare venting, and fluid inventories
- Build productive relationships and actively engage with internal stakeholders (Production Accounting, Engineering, Marketing, and HSSE) to analyze daily and weekly outputs in comparison to plans
WHAT YOU BRING:
- 5 years of relevant experience, demonstrating progressive responsibilities in production operations, preferably within the Energy industry
- Prior experience with remote operations is preferred
- Competent knowledge of PVR, SCADA and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, PI Vision, and Teams)
- Proficiency with Maximo and Power BI is considered a valuable asset
- Possess current First Aid certificate
- Model and promote safe behaviors in all work environments, adhering to health and safety regulations, corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with competing priorities, and responding quickly to time-sensitive issues
